Five things we buy every day.

Each page below shows the live per-gram math, what we look for, and a worked example from a recent counter ticket. If you're searching for gold buyers in San Jose for any of these categories — start here.

01 — Most-asked category

Gold jewelry — any karat, any condition.

Rings, chains, bracelets, earrings, pendants, broken sets, single earrings. We buy 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, and 24K — stamped, unstamped, intact, or tangled. Stones are deducted by displacement so you're paid on the actual gold weight, not the showroom price. The same per-gram payout applies whether the piece is heirloom-quality or destined for the melt pot.

02 — Sovereign & private mint

Gold coins — government & private mint.

American Gold Eagles, Canadian Maples, Krugerrands, Pandas, Vienna Philharmonics, Britannias, Sovereigns, Mexican Pesos. Numismatic premium considered for pre-1933 US gold and proof issues.

03 — Investment-grade

Bullion bars — 1g to 1kg.

PAMP Suisse, Credit Suisse, Johnson Matthey, Perth Mint, Valcambi, Engelhard, Royal Canadian Mint. Investment-grade pricing within a tight band of spot, same-day wire settlement on lots over $25K.

04 — Weight is what matters

Scrap gold — broken is fine.

Broken chains, dental gold, single earrings, bent rings, mismatched lots. The per-gram payout is the same as for an intact piece — we don't penalize condition. If you want to sell scrap gold near you, this is the lane.

05 — Authenticated on site

Luxury watches — Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Patek.

Working condition matters. Box and papers add value. We authenticate on site or refer you out if a piece falls outside our brand list. Vintage, modern, and complications all considered.

04 · How a quote happens

Live test, visible math.

The same four-step process runs whether you bring a single chain or an estate lot. See the full walkthrough on how it works, or read the underlying pricing formula.

1.

Verify

The XRF analyzer reads the alloy percentage. Karat marks are confirmed against the actual reading — markings are sometimes wrong by a karat or two, in either direction.

2.

Weigh

Calibrated scale shows grams to two decimals. Stones are deducted by displacement or removed entirely. You watch the reading.

3.

Price

Live spot price × purity × weight × payout band. Every variable is on the screen — nothing is hidden in a back office formula.

4.

Offer

Printed on letterhead, signed, dated, valid seven full days. Take it home. Compare with anyone. Come back if it still wins.

05 · A short list of what to skip

What we don't buy.

Saves everyone time on the call. If your item falls into one of these, we'll usually point you to the right specialist nearby.

·

Gold-plated or gold-filled items

The plating is too thin to recover economically. If it's marked GP, GF, RGP, HGE, or 1/20 — it's plated, not solid.

·

Costume or fashion jewelry

If it's not stamped with a karat mark and doesn't pass an XRF check, it's likely base metal with a decorative finish.

·

Silver or platinum (most days)

We focus on gold and luxury watches. For silver/platinum we recommend two specialty buyers nearby — ask on the call for the referral.

·

Smart watches & quartz fashion brands

Apple Watch, Garmin, Fossil, Michael Kors, and similar. Resale value is best on dedicated electronics or fashion-resale platforms.

Ready when you are

Bring it in. We'll quote it on the spot.

No appointment needed for anything under about $10,000. For estate lots, call ahead so we can have two appraisers ready.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

What does a San Jose gold buyer actually do?
We test each item for karat or hallmark, weigh it on a calibrated scale, multiply by today’s live spot price for that metal, and write you an offer. If you accept, you walk out with cash the same visit. If not, you walk out with the offer in writing.
Which gold buying services do you offer?
Five categories: gold jewelry (10K–24K), gold coins (Eagles, Krugerrands, Maples, pre-1933 US), gold bullion and bars (PAMP, Credit Suisse, Perth), scrap gold (broken pieces, dental), and luxury watches (Rolex, Patek, AP, Omega).
Is there a minimum amount to use your services?
No minimum. We’ll test, weigh and quote a single fractional Eagle or one broken chain just as carefully as a multi-ounce lot.
Do you charge any service or appraisal fees?
No. Testing, weighing and the written offer are always free, whether you sell or not.
Can I get an estimate before scheduling a meeting?
For coins and bullion (where the form factor is standardized) yes — call (408) 594-3624 with the year, mint and weight. For jewelry and scrap, an in-person test is needed because karat and exact weight drive the offer.
