02 · The visit, step by step

Six steps, in order.

From your first message to the moment payment lands — usually a single business day for a small lot.

1.

Submit a quote.

Send a quick online request with photos and a short description. No fee, no obligation. Most replies go out within one business hour.

2.

Lay it out.

At the meet-up, we lay everything out and sort by category — coins to one side, jewelry by karat, bullion separately.

3.

Watch the test.

Each item goes on the XRF analyzer. The alloy reading shows on the screen — you see the actual purity, not the stamped karat.

4.

Watch the weigh.

Calibrated scale, grams to two decimals. Stones get displaced or pulled. Whatever's gold goes onto the scale.

5.

Read the offer.

Printed on letterhead. Spot price, weight, purity, payout band, total. Signed, dated, valid seven full days.

6.

Decide.

Cash on the spot up to $5,000. Wire same-day for larger lots. Or take the offer home and think about it. About one in ten customers walks back out with the gold.

03 · What to bring

Three things that speed it up.

Optional, never required — but they cut visit time roughly in half.

·

A driver's license or state ID.

Required by California for any precious-metal transaction over $50. We'll photocopy it and store it under our DOJ permit.

·

Original receipts or appraisals (if you have them).

Helpful for numismatic coins or signed jewelry. Doesn't change the melt math, but speeds verification on premium pieces.

·

A rough inventory.

Even just "about 30 grams of 14K" lets us pre-stage the right scale and calculator. Saves five minutes.

04 · Payment options

How payout actually works.

Three settlement methods, no fees on any of them.

·

Cash — up to $5,000.

Counted on a video call or in person, in $100 bills. Federal reporting kicks in over $10,000 in a 24-hour window — we follow the rules.

·

Bank wire — any amount, same day.

Initiated within an hour, lands the same business day for most US banks. No fee from us.

·

Cashier's check.

Drawn on a local bank, available for pickup within an hour. Useful for amounts between $5K and $25K when wire isn't ideal.

05 · Estate visits

When the lot doesn't fit in a bag.

For estates, executors, or anyone with a meaningful collection, we come to you.

·

Schedule by phone.

Call (408) 594-3624. Two appraisers, calibrated scale, and an XRF reader come on site. No charge.

·

Service area.

Anywhere in Santa Clara County for free. San Mateo, Alameda, San Benito by arrangement.

·

Confidentiality.

We sign an NDA on request. No photos, no marketing, no resale references — ever.

Ready when you are

Send us your details. We're ready.

No fee, no script. Tell us about one item or a full estate — we'll quote it the same way.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

How long does an online gold quote take?
Most jewelry and scrap quotes are returned within one business hour of your online request. Larger lots, bullion bars and luxury watches may need a follow-up call to complete authentication.
How is the live spot price applied to my piece?
The on-counter monitor shows current spot per troy ounce. Your piece is weighed, the karat is converted to a purity factor (e.g. 14K = .585), and weight × purity × spot = the gold value. Any premium for coins or watches is added on top.
Do I have to sell the same day?
No. The offer is written and yours to keep. Many sellers leave to compare; we’ll honor the spot price for a short window so you don’t lose to market movement.
Is the price negotiable?
The spot calculation is fixed and transparent. The spread (handling) on bullion or premiums on numismatic coins / luxury watches has some flexibility on larger lots — we’re happy to discuss.
What forms of payment do you offer?
Cash for most transactions on the spot. ACH or wire is available for larger lots (typically over $10,000) at the seller’s preference.
